Iran, France discuss oil, gas coop.

TEHRAN, Nov. 18 (MNA) – The new round of Iran’s talks with managers and representatives of 26 French oil companies was held while France’s Technip has conducted several negotiations to return to Iran’s oil industry.

Oil negotiations between Iran and managers of 26 French companies active in the fields of oil, gas and energy were held in Tehran.

Accordingly, a 40-member delegation of 26 large French companies headed by former CEO of the French oil company Total Pierre Fabiani met and talked with some Iranian executives and officials.

Members of the delegation are active in various sectors like contracting, engineering and construction of oil industry equipment and the main axis of the oil talks has been development of collaborations, mutual cooperation as well as participation in Iran’s oil industry.

Pierre Fabiani deemed the cooperation between Iranian and French oil companies as a turning point for the two companies adding “French companies can boost bilateral ties with powerful Iranian oil companies like Oil Industries Engineering and Construction Company (OIEC)."

On the sidelines of the French delegation’s visit to Iran, some talks have been held between OIEC Managing Director Behzad Mohammadi and Technip’s Market Development Manager Eric Lamberly.

Prominent and credited French oil companies are accompanying the delegation including Technip, CGG, Air Liquid, Doris, IFP, Subsea among the others.

Meanwhile, Stephane Michel, Total's Middle East-North Africa president, had recently referred to Total’s readiness to return to the Iranian oil industry adding “Total is ready to supply finance, reduce the costs of production projects as well as to provide technologies required by Iran’s oil and gas industry.”
